EDITOR'S NOTE

Welcome to Edition 14

Welcome back to the latest edition of our online magazine, where we will be focusing on saltwater angling, diving and recipes that will tantalize your taste buds.

From Namibia, Judy Langenhoven chats about a fishing experience filled with adventure, bliss, and tranquility. Looking at the local scene, we get more insight into fishing the Strand reefs, targeting Kob in the False Bay area and to Arniston where Reean Rademeyer takes his son on an adventure to target Smooth Hound sharks.

Moving in an Easterly direction, we look at targeting edibles at Mossel Bay using the correct set-ups, and then to the KwaZulu Natal coastline where we have an article that looks at the art of using stick baits and lastly from KwaZulu-Natal a lighthearted article on being hypnotized by catching fish on lures.

On the product side we chat about how braid is made and the pros and cons of spooling your reels with this product, and on that note a new grinder reel, the Pro Hunter series was recently put through its paces and tested by Catchcook.com ambassador Juandre Geldenhuys. On the diving side, Chase Mare tells us about the biggest yellowtail (16.5kilo) that he shot whilst on a solo shore dive in the Eastern Cape.

On the local culinary side, Chef Johan introduces our audience to a tantalizing beef pot (Potjie) recipe, prepared in a proper pot over hot coals.

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn’t s someone else’s gift to you – so remember limit your catch don’t catch your limit.

Yours in outdoor life!
