On the southern most tip of Africa, an easy 2½ hours drive from Cape Town lies the quaint fishing village of Struisbaai. In prime position, at the traditional working harbour, is the newly developed Two Oceans Waterfront.

The Two Oceans Waterfront is set to become the tourism hub for visitors ticking southernmost tip of Africa off their bucket list. Opening on Friday 13th December, right on the beach at this iconic site, is the 800 seater Catch Cook Restaurant & Beach Bar. With an indoor and outdoor seating area, patrons can “chill out” with their feet in the sand and watch the local fishermen go about their daily tasks or dig in and indulge in the “eat all you can”  buffet breakfast and à la carte lunches and dinners. The restaurant is Halaal friendly and although focusing on sea food, the à la carte menus will include burgers, steak, beef ribs as well as some great vegetarian options. This is an exceptional option for corporate events and year end functions.

There are a host of exciting activities on offer at the Two Oceans Waterfront. These will include adrenalin High Speed Inflatable Boat trips (departing every 45 minutes), sunset cruises, scenic eco boat trips, fishing charters, kayaks, fat bikes & kids adventure centre with jungle gyms, a pirate ship, jumping castle & slides.

There are a number of job creation initiatives available within this development. One of these will be with local tour guides. They will be given the opportunity to do walking tours to the tip of Africa as well as cycle tours. These tours will be departing from Struisbaai’s Two Oceans Waterfront daily.

The Two Oceans Waterfront will be hosting events such as art & photography exhibitions, boating & fishing competitions as well as live concerts. This past December’s line-up included Albert Frost & Bok Van Blerk. Bok Van Blerk brought in 2020 with a rocking new year’s eve gig. The Catch Cook Restaurant and Beach Bar is arguably the best venue to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks display.

Future developments for the Struisbaai’s Two Oceans Waterfront include an eco-friendly, re-used, re-cycled, shipping container hotel, perfectly suited for the traditional working harbour. It will offer 5-star accommodation and service at 4-star rates. Using the best Interior design artists available in the country, this hotel is set to become a destination in its own right.

The Catch Cook Restaurant & Beach Bar will be adding a wrap-around deck, taking advantage of the unparalleled, breath-taking views of the beautiful beaches, slipway activities and traditional working harbour, where local fishermen can be seen off-loading their catch at the soon to be developed Fish Market.  Whale Watching charters and beach horse rides are also on the cards.
